Stitching, Sewing and Hobbycraft Show Glasgow

A last minute decision meant we ended up in Glasgow yesterday at the stitching, sewing and hobbycraft Show. I last went to this show a couple of years ago. Overall there was little that appealed to me however I still managed to spend some money. Funny how I only purchased kits though. I saw these 3D cross stitch kits last time and as soon as I saw them I knew this time I had to have one....or three as it ended up ...oops! They just looked so cute and I should have them completed by Xmas time.
This teeny tree came in three sizes I think I bought the smallest.
There was so many of these little houses to choose from so I got a twin pack.

Already made a start on the little red house. These will look so sweet hanging on the tree. I am not usually a fan of aida but it's fine for this kit. I think linen would be too soft and fray too easily. I love that they are going together quickly just what I need at the mo.
Couldn't resist this teeny greetings card, my daughter has already 'bagsied' it.
I also treated myself to a couple of stumpwork kits. The stall had the models made up and they looked amazing much better than the photos on the front of the kits.
A gorgeous little needle book

And a little scissor fob.

My final purchase is a basic starter kit to learn needle tatting, something I've always wanted to learn. The lady manning the Ring of Tatters stall was so lovely and helpful she sat for ages explaining and showing myself and my daughters how 'simple' the technique was. All three of us are going to learn together ....watch this space!

There was a quilting exhibition on and I managed to snap a few pics of some of the exhibits however a lot asked not to be photographed which I've respected. These were themed on leaves such creativity!

And I just loved these two quilts..

My daughters wanted to buy more deco patch stuff so we headed over to the hobbycraft hall but we were very disappointed as there was only one stall selling deco patch. The rest seemed to be card crafting stuff which is not really our cup of tea.
We had an enjoyable day out. Now I am off to stitch some more of my wee red house.

Whenever there is a craft show somewhere near my region I try to go there. And even when there are only two or three stalls for cross stitch, I always seem to find something to buy, lol. You purchased some very lovely kits. Have fun stitching them.

Sounds like you had a fun time at the show, despite the slim pickings. Just the tatting booth would have made it worthwhile. I've always wanted to try that too! Your purchases look like good ones, and I enjoyed seeing some of the displays too.
